Y’know that person who rambles on MSN really late at night while playing a video game and has no clue what they’re talking about? Or the person that reads an EGM magazine in a lecture? Or what about that girl who can play the Sweet Child O’ Mine intro on expert one-handed? If it’s not Kenny Burning, then it must be her doppelganger!
Straight out of the jungle of Six Nations, Ontario, now residing in Toronto, Ontario, Kenny is always the first to share her opinion on things. Whether its challenging the opinions of Native rights and issues, or arguing or telling people to get out of her store for not liking the Metal Gear Solid series, she does her research and challenges what people believe. Game wise, she plays 360 and DS, she’s just now starting to see the beauty of computer gaming.
Her other big interest is comic books. If you were to look in her house, it would be like Marvel comics puked all over the place. She considers Todd McFarlane and Frank Miller her heroes. Films are another big deal. She loves horror and slasher, but considers The Nightmare Before Christmas her favorite movie. “Yeah man I hate Tim Burton, but the Nightmare Before Christmas was dope.” A direct quote from Kenny herself. As for music, Iron Maiden, Nine Inch Nails Skinny Puppy and KMFDM are at the top of the list. And Linkin Park, don’t question her about all their albums on her iPod though.
Currently attending George Brown College for Graphic Design, she hopes to one day pursue her dream of being a concept artist for Konami (surprise, surprise.) Her advice to anyone wanting to pursue that direction is “Don’t go to George Brown” and “Don’t listen to your drawing teacher, what do they know?”
